Library Bookings - Help Page.

General Information

The library booking system is called 'Booked'. When you log in you are brought to the 'schedule' part of the system, which will for students show Group Study Room Availability, this can also be accessed by clicking on schedule at the top of the screen, all users can see the Library Lab availability calendar and Academic Staff can book tours and training.
In addition to the bookings available on 'Booked', the following are available to registered users on a first come first served basis in the libary:

  1. Computers on the upstairs mezzanine
  2. Computers in the Library Lab (Check Booked for availability)
  3. Library Laptops, available for 3 hour loan from the library desk

 

The following materials can be booked in advance via the library system:

Group Study Rooms
These rooms are available to registered students only for study purposes

Library Research Consultation - for students and staff

Silent Study Desks - students and staff

Library Training: Academic Staff Only

Library short tours: Academic Staff Only

Make a Booking

  • Go to the library home page and click on Book A Room
  • (Designed to work with Chrome Browser)

  • Brings you to Booked login page

    Log in with your TU Dublin Tallaght network ID and password.

    • Note: the first tme you log in you will see the resource filter.
      It is the panel to the left of the screen. .

    The First Time you Use the System

    1. TURN ON E-MAIL NOTIFICATIONS - IF YOU WANT TO RECEIVE THESE.

  • Go to My Account at the top of the Bookings page
  • Go to Notification Preferences
  • Image of notifiction preferences page
    Enable the notification e-mails you want to receive.
    Note: you cannot edit your profile or password as these are controlled by TU Dublin IT Services
    Click update
  • 2.CHECK THE DASHBOARD

     

  • Go to Dashboard at the top of the Bookings page
  • Bookings dashboard
    On the dashboard you can see:
    • Announcements: you can see any announcements on the system, tips, and solutions to difficulties other users are experiencing
    • Upcoming reservations: you can see your upcoming reservations, and details of what and where and time you have booked.
    • Resource availability is visable further down the page

      Book a Group Study Room - ON THE SCHEDULE/Bookings PAGE

      This is the page you will start from every time you log in, if it does not show:
      Go to Schedule at the top of the Bookings page

      Click on Bookings from the drop down menu
      This brings you to the sttudent group study room page

      Click on an available slot with your chosen time

      A "New Reservation" page will open

      Book a study room reservaion

      Click on a time,and if you want to, give the reservation a title, select a reminder email, then click create
      A notice will appear if you have successfully made the booking.

      Book a study room confirmation

    • Click close
      The reservation will show on your dashboard, and if you have turned it on you will receive an e-mail with the details in it.
    • You can booking up to four hours a week for Group Study Rooms.

       

      Book a Research Consultation

      This service is available to students and staff.

      • If you are not at the Group Study Room schedule, go to Schedule and select Bookings
      • Click on the drop down menu, this shows 'Group Study Rooms' at the top.
      • Scroll down, then, select a research consultation for your subject.
        Select an available date and time
      • A "New Reservation" form will open.
      • If you hover your mouse cursor over the name of the subject liaison librarian for your subject you will get more details about what a research consultation is.
      • Fill in the form and remember to book the accessory 'Research Consult PC'. If possible please include details of the topic you want a consultation about.
      • Click create
      • Your request requires approval by a member of library staff who will then contact you for further details of your research, and to arrange a suitable time for the research consultation.

         

        Go to My Calendar to see all your bookings and their details in one place (including past bookings)

        You can book one research consultation per week 

         

        Library Lab Availability


        You can see if the library lab is available for open use.

         

        Book Silent Study Desks

        A desk in the silent study area near the theses collection can be booked for up to 4 hours at a time. These desks have signs indicating which is which. You can book 4 hours per day and book again that day once your booking is complete. Please do not leave belongings unattended on these desks.

      Cancelling a booking

      Please cancel any booking that you cannot keep.
      Go to the Library Home Page
      Log on to Book a Room
      Go to your Dashboard
      Select the booking you want to cancel
      Click on "More" at bottom right hand side.
      On the drop down menu click Delete
      A message will appear to say your reservation has been cancelled.
      Click close
